New York City

Stayed in port at Jersey City, NJ but with tons of enthusiasm and excitement that only NYC can generate, we headed in to the city. After figuring out the rail system from Jersey into Manhattan, we made it to our first stop - Chelsea Market - with the following list in hand - Black Seed Bagels (obvious), Alf Bakery (for sourdough bread and chocolate babka) and Posman Books. Is it obvious we planned to eat our way across Manhattan? To be fair we didn’t eat everything at once - but we will.

Headed to the Whitney Museum of American Art to see so the Amy Sherald exhibit- she painted Michelle Obama’s official portrait and is from Columbus , GA, the small town next to where Ann’s parents and relatives are from. The day wouldn’t have been complete without having dinner at another of Paige’s dining recommendations OLIO E PIÙ  - Naples meets NYC, which again did not disappoint! We’ve come to the conclusion Paige must have spent the majority of her 9 years living in the NY seeking out and dining at every restaurant in city…the day was hotter than heck w/humidity to match, and after walking over 5 miles here there and everywhere, we headed back to the boat - hot, crabby ( particularly Ann) and DONE with NYC - until next visit anyway.
