For the Summer of 2026, we are planning to continue our earlier plan when we leave the Thousand Islands area, cruise through the Trent-Severn Waterway to Georgian Bay and the North Channel to the Mackinac Island area.

We are planning to return to the Thousand Islands by September 30, which is the end of the season, via the Detroit River, Lake Erie and the Welland Canal so we’ll see how much time we have when we get to Mackinac.

With time we are hoping to get a quick trip up into Lake Superior, then the northern reaches of Lake Michigan before heading south on Lake Huron towards Detroit and Lake Erie.

The picture here is the famous Peterborough Lift Lock where the boats enter something akin to a very large bathtub and then the bathtubs are raised and lowered at the same time to lift and lower boats. We will be transiting this lock for the third time early during this trip. In 2025 we went both up and down here.
