Jersey City, NJ

This morning we left at the butt crack of dawn to get the heck out of Stamford and make it to NYC in time to beat the high winds, strong currents and have time to enjoy the area! Funny enough, the water traffic on Fridays is similar to the I-95 or auto traffic in the city, manic, requiring your head to be on a constant swivel.

Docked at one of our favorite marinas in Jersey City - with a spectacular view of the Statue of Liberty, the NYC skyline, and  Ellis Island. Walked all over Jersey City in the afternoon and had dinner at a FANTASTIC French Lebanese restaurant called Uncle Momo that served some of the most delicious food we have had in a while! They made their own pita while you watched and we had a dish called Ouzi, which was full of flavors. Sautéed vegetables, caramelized onions, raisins, almonds, basmati rice and spices enclosed in filo dough served with yogurt sauce, and arrived at the table looking like a blown up filo ballon! Recommended by Paige (food critic extraordinaire) as she had dined there before and really “ blew”us away - LOL. We are definitely in a New York State of mind - and looking forward to going in to the city tomorrow!
