Well, we had wanted to go to Frankford, Lock 6, where the Canada Parks has shore power for boats. But, when we got to Lock 7, we found out that Lock 6 was full. So, since we had already completed six locks and had stayed at this nice lock in the shade of a giant willow tree several weeks earlier, we decided to pull over for the night.
There is wildlife everywhere. From frogs hiding in the grass on a lock ladder to the large grassy marshes with majestic swans and other birds.
Another boat that pulled in a little later was an older Ocean Yachts trawler that the owner had completely removed the diesel engines and replaced with electric motors. They had many panels for solar power and a generator to keep the batteries up. I couldn’t figure out why the boat was so quiet until the owner told me it was an electric boat. Sorry, no pics but it just looks like a boat.
In the morning when we were getting started, the beautiful boat in the pictures came through the lock. Fun to see something different.
