Not too much to report today. We’ve been doing boat chores, catching up on real life bill paying, blah, blah. The smoke has cleared out a little, it’s still hazy but not as much smell in the air.

Will did pull out the bike and went for about a 22 mile ride, to Hastings which was the previous town/marina. Take a look at the route. On the bike a little over two hours round trip, about 22 miles. Our cruise from Hastings to Campbellford a couple of days ago was 15 miles, went through six locks and took over five hours. In the screenshot below, the upside down U Trent River is the water where we traveled on the boat, and you can see the route Will took on the bike.

On the way out of town Will looked down a side street and saw an old Royal Canadian Air Force Avro Canada CF-100 Canuck interceptor in someone’s backyard. How did that get there? Will also rode about five miles of the Trans Canada Trail which is over 28,000 kilometers (17,400 miles) long. Will’s five miles wasn’t even a sneeze.

After dinner we walked over to the Ice Cream Cafe where they sell the delicious Kawartha Dairy Ice Cream and there was a sign on the door, “Sold out of Ice Cream.” The store keeper next door told us several kids were crying because they couldn’t get any ice cream. That is sad.

Leaving tomorrow for Frankford, Lock 6.
